Spooktacular Pitch Extravaganza Submission and Agent Game Details

Background came from this design.

Can you believe the Spooktacular Pitch Extravaganza is only five days away? Yes! It's THIS Saturday! So that means that today is the day for details. Are you ready? Are you sure? Okay, here we go!

NOTE: Formatting details along with contest email will be posted with the names of the 50 people moving on to the agent round. (I was going to post it here, but the post was crazy long. Don't worry though. It won't be something crazy like requiring you to use rainbow ink or something. But those details will come on October 17th.)

SUBMISSION DETAILS:

Submissions open on October 13th at 8am EDT through October 17th at 12am EDT for Adult, New Adult, Young Adult, and Middle Grade. (What the agents are looking for can be found on this post.) To enter you must come here to my blog and sign up on the raffelcopter widget set up on the designated submission post.

On October 17th I will draw 50 names using random.org and post them on my blog. Those 50 people will then have until October 19th at 8am EDT to email their 3 line pitch (3 sentences total. No more and no less.) and first 250 words to a designated contest email that will be posted with formatting details with this announcement. If someone doesn't get their entry in on time, I will draw a new name and they will take the empty spot. I will have the post up announcing the lucky 50 no later than 8pm EDT on the 17th.

All 50 entries moving on to the agent round will go live on my blog on October 20th and will be available for Brittany and Jordy to do a little Halloween-esq redecorating until October 28th. The 28th will be the last day for both agents to make a play.

AGENT GAME:

Halloween-esq pitch redecorating. That's right. Eggs and TP will be thrown at the pitches they want. So this time, it's good be egged and TP'd! Brittany and Jordy will have from October 20th through October 28th to make their plays. If there's a tie, they will get to make another throw until a victor emerges or someone runs out of ammo. (I love how Brenda Drake's contests do this and it always makes the agents plays a little harder in the end. But to me, that equals more fun!)

Both agents will have a total of 26 eggs (2 baker's dozen) and 24 rolls of TP (2 twelve packs) total. Not a lot, but normal kids wouldn't have tons of this stuff and it'll make their choices a little more difficult while being easy to use.

PRIZES:

So, what does all of this redecorating get you? Well, it's something I always enjoy and I hope you do too! (Oh! And there's an extra prize popping up here too from someone very awesome!)

All entries will be on moderation, so no comments are allowed while Brittany and Jordy make their plays.

Awesome, right? Wait! There's more!

And still, there's more!

Of course you knew I'd have to up it from normal submissions!

AN EXTRA SPECIAL PRIZE:

One lucky person will win a $35 gift certificate from Editor Cassandra Marshall! That lucky person will be announced with the other lucky winners on October 29th! Also, if you'd like a chance to win a full edit, head over to Cassandra's blog to enter her 2012 FREE EDIT GIVEAWAY!

So I think that's everything. If you have any questions or just want to say how excited you are, my comments are always open. Well, except for during the contest of course! See you on the 13th! Until next time, happy reading/writing everyone!

I wont be participating since Jordy already has a submission of mine, but I'll spread the word! :D

  2. And what if my pitch is only one measly sentence? Shared. I have one of those beautiful badges on my blog. So pretty. :) Thank you Jamie.

  3. It has to be 3 sentences total. No more and no less. I'll add this to this post as well just in case anyone else is wondering this. Thanks for the Q, Karen!

  4. Well this is great. Don't know if I'll enter. I'm too much of a coward to do so but let me spread the word and hopefully by the 13th I'll have enough courage to enter.
